Federation of Race Equality Councils
The
Federation of Racial Equality Councils’ functions are:
-
To
represent, promote and protect at national, European and
international levels the interests of those
organisations in the English regions, Scotland and
Wales, which have the same or similar objects as FOREC.
-
To work
in partnership with organisations in the English
regions, Scotland and Wales, which have the same or
similar objects as FOREC in order to assist them in
building their strategic effectiveness and capacity to
provide high quality services.

To work
with international, European, national and regional
bodies to develop and implement effective strategies in
furtherance of the aforementioned objects.

To
facilitate policy development, community development,
education and training, research, strategic planning of
provision, service and quality improvement, the search
for, acquisition and allocation of funds, marketing and
promotion, consultancy, and other kindred activities in
furtherance of the aforementioned objects.

To
provide information and advice for and about the work
and achievements of race equality councils and other
bodies with similar objects and functions.
The
Federation of Racial Equality Councils’ objects are:

to work
towards the elimination of discrimination, especially of
the kind based on colour, race, ethnicity, or religion.

to
promote equality of opportunity.
-
to
promote good relations between persons of different
racial, ethnic and religious groups and cohesion between
and within communities.
-
to
support represent and defend the rights of minorities.
Contact:
The
Federation of Race Equality Councils does not currently have
full-time staff and is kept going almost entirely on the
voluntary input of its honorary officers and members. Rights
and Equality West Midlands provides office accommodation and
secretarial support.
