Our Organisation
This part
of our website describes the nature of our organisation. We
are incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (number
4355394) with no share capital, and registered as a charity,
(number 1102076). Our registered name is Rights and
Equality West Midlands, but we are often referred to by the
acronym REWM. We are located in the Aston Science Park,
Birmingham (click
our office and location). We started life as the
National Lottery Fund Race Equality Development Project (see
our history).
We are
governed by a memorandum and articles of association, which
determine our directors and members (see
honorary officers,
directors, and
members). Please contact us on 0121 250 3859, if you
require further information about our memorandum and
articles of association. The memorandum sets out
our functions. The
organisation’s current diagram can be found under
our structure. It shows the reporting relations
of our staff, consultants, volunteers and trainees through
the CEO, to the REWM Board and West Midlands Race Equality
Forum. More details of our honorary officers, directors,
members, member organisations, staff, consultants,
volunteers and trainees can be found under
our people.
A full
account of our organisations’ activities and achievements,
together with audited accounts of our financial transactions
can be found in
REWM annual reports and audited accounts.
Policies
governing our organisation, its stance and direction are set
under
General REWM policies.
Policies and procedures governing the conditions of
staff,
volunteers and trainees are listed under
REWM staffing policies. Details of our general
mode of operate can be found under
How we operate, and the factors we consider
critical to our success under

base our work on a needs analysis (see
