Regional Action West Midlands

Regional Action West Midlands was established in 2000 as a result of Government policy to move decision making powers and resources from Central Government departments to newly created English regions. The West Midlands is one of those nine English regions.

RAWM exists to make sure that the voluntary and community sector is involved in the decision making and resource allocation processes.  It does this by:

  • Informing the sector about which strategies and policies are likely to impact on it, and making sure that all opportunities to contribute to the shape and delivery of these are explored.
  • Supporting the sector in organising itself into effective networks and structures to collectively influence decision makers.
  • Directly engaging with regional decision makers from a range of agencies to promote the vital role of the voluntary and community sector in improving the quality of life in the region.
